Mayors Office of Neighborhood Services (M.O.N.S.)
"The Office of Neighborhood Services is your link to the City of Providence and its services and programs." That quote is from the M.O.N.S. Mission Statement.
Mt. Hope residents have used this office to get abandoned cars towed from their streets, to get dangerous code violations corrected, to get repairs made in our public parks, to get their streets plowed, to get mistakes in their property taxes corrected, to get the police to crack down of drug houses, to get their garbage and recyclables picked up when the service failed to get them as usual.
Greater Camp Concerned Citizens worked with M.O.N.S on many neighborhood problems, among them: to get new traffic signs put up in our neighborhood and new crosswalks: to get litter cleaned up in vacant lots and to get graffiti removed from the park wall on Cypress Street.
Currently headed by Ms. Rita Murphy, M.O.N.S is one of the innovative ideas that Mayor Ciccline brought to our City government.
M.O.N.S gets many requests for assistance, so it is important that after you make a request you follow up with phone calls and e-mails until your request has been handled satisfactorily.
