Greater Camp Concerned Citizens devotes all of its energy to improving the quality of life for all residents of Mt. Hope. We work to make Mt. Hope a beautiful, safe place to live, to work, and to raise children.
As one of our stated goals, we strive to help citizens understand how city departments work.
Be it the Police Department, the Department of Public Works, Code Enforcement, the Parks Department, or any city department, we believe putting faces to names and titles and understanding departmental operations and procedures helps the community receive adequate city services for the substantial taxes we pay.
We also believe in holding accountable our elected and appointed officials for their actions or for their inaction. We believe strongly in voicing our opinion through the vote. One person, one vote - make a change.
Greater Camp Concerned Citizens holds member meetings on an as needed basis: at our meetings community needs are identified, community actions are initiated, and follow-up is guaranteed.
To keep our meetings short and concise, we develop a meeting agenda that we follow closely, we form an action plan, and then we follow through and closely monitor our initiative's progress.
We strive to forge and maintain a working relationship with our elected and appointed officials for the betterment of the Mt. Hope community.
It is a political world, and as the Speaker of the House, Tip O'Neill, put it "All politics is local". We believe all residents should get involved in their community and in local politics.
