A group of Mt. Hope residents formed Greater Camp Concerned Citizens (GCCC) in 1990 to address the need for a citizens community group that would unite Mt. Hope residents around the issue of improving the quality of life in Mt. Hope.
Our members own homes in Mt. Hope, or are long term Mt. Hope residents, or are newer residents who feel a vested interest in improving life in Mt. Hope.
We believe that by getting to know our elected and appointed city officials and the workings of city government we can secure for Mt. Hope the quality of city services afforded to other East Side neighborhoods.
Cleaner streets, more effective policing, eliminating drug dealing, better
park maintenance, improved signage and traffic enforcement, and the enforcement
of city codes constitute some of the neighborhood concerns we have addressed
and on which we are still working for improvement.
We believe that having a vocal, active membership will improve the quality
of services we receive from City hall and thus improve the quality of
life for all Mt. Hope residents.
