Racists in Mt. Hope
Several times in the last week, I have been called a "cracker" as I walked through or drove by the Crossroads (Camp & Cypress) by groups of young thugs.
This overt racism is intolerable. Do I go around yelling the N word? Of course not. Why do I have to put up with being called a "cracker" by young black men who likely don't even know the etymology of the term?
There is overt racism in Mt. Hope. The next time I'm called a "cracker" I am going to confront the thugs and likely risk being harmed.
I know the real estate market is tough right now, but I'm going to sell and get the f*** out of this open sewer of a neighborhood while I still can. Any white person who continues to live here with these racists is nuts.

They can call me "Cracker" all they want, I'm not going anywhere. That weak name calling is simply symbolic of the last gasping breaths of a dying beast, the Mt. Hope crippled by drugs, lax law enforcement, and poorly overseen entitlement programs.
The new Mt. Hope rebirths as we speak with new residents fixing up their houses, planting trees and gardens, cleaning up streets, and working with the police and government to rid Mt. Hope of the curse of the once entrenched drug trade, that is now being driven out of Mt. Hope.
Sure it's scary for those who want to keep Mt. Hope a ghetto, an open air drug market, so they take to the weakest tactic possible, calling names at the people who are responsible for the great, positive change.
Nah, na, nah, nah, na!
