Another South Providence?

News of yet ANOTHER shooting on Pleasant Street and the unabated drug dealing at Tecumseh and Grandview (the subjects of the two latest posts) leads me to believe that Mt. Hope is turning into another South Providence.

I'm angry, frightened and depressed over the state of our neighborhood. I equate the hoodlums and thugs in our midst with terrorists. Do we have to call in the Department of Homeland Security to take care of these people, who are no better than wild animals?

Message to David Cicilline, Kevin Jackson and police: clean up the neighborhood NOW even if you have to declare martial law.

Peter C, I agree with you.
The police, the councilman and the Mayor need to do SOMETHING!!!!
We (many of my neighbors) and I have called, wrote, complained, attended meetings, etc. yet we are ignored, and drug dealing and shootings continue. In my book is this type of behavior is unacceptable!!

Alyssa, You are correct, it is not easy, however the people we have working for us (aka government) could be doing more to stop this type of activity and stop the enabling which leads to this type of activity.

In response to "Another South Providence," posted on August 24...
If I may suggest, you should be subject to endless amounts of education, in an effort to combat your clearly demonstrated ignorance that springs from your offers of such simple solutions to such complex issues.
A book, maybe a class or two, would do you some good.
If it's that simple then why aren't we voting you into office???
