Lack of Participation
Due to lack of community participation this weblog has been canceled and all posts have been deleted. The Mt. Hope Community Website will be going off-line shortly.

Dear Elephant Vanishes II I guess that John is really not doing a good job at censuring if your worthless comments made it on the blog.
Maybe the community is changing and we do agree with John and not with an Elephants ASS like you. Thanks to John and Irene for the most part the GCCC is growing and helping to better our lives in Mount Hope which may be a bad thing for an Elephants ASS but for those of us with kids trying to live in a nice and growing community we do thank them and stand behind them 110%.

What a Horse's Ass you are. Or is it an Elephant's. You don't even have the guts to criticize me using your own name, so how can you speak for the community.
If you have something to say to me you can call me up and speak to me in person at 640-8077 or e-mail me at this website.
If you have something to contribute to the website simply post it. If you are a member and have issues with the organization come to our meetings and voice your concern. As previousely stated, this blog is not the forum in which to voice your displeasure with GCCC.
To do that, speak to me in person.
No more anonymous comments please.

Perhaps word has gotton out and members of our community do not want to contribute to a site where there thoughts and feeling will be censured if they do not reflect, 100% that of John Twomey.

Well, maybe people would be more involved if they didn't feel their comments were unwanted -- like those Roy posted yesterday saying the side would only be reformatted, that has been removed.
Take the ball and go on home, John.

And thanks Nadezhda, for following up on the prompt to e-mail the ONS about the broken fence on Cypress, and asking about the ludicrous street cleaning fiasco. I believe that that is the only instance of anyone following up on a prompt to pursue an issue raised on the blog. Oh yeah, Uri did follow up by calling the NOCD, so thanks, Uri, and thanks to all who did try to participate. We were just not enough.

Thanks for your participation, Jen, both on the blog and at the Camp St. clean-up as one of the four members who showed up.
Many people visit the site on a daily basis, but statistically, only a tiny fraction ever posted anything and most of them did not even use their real names. Time just ran out for the blog.
When I have the time, I will post a detailed explanation for the decision and where the site will go from here. It will also be an agenda item for our GCCC meeting on the 18th.
In the meantime the site will remain active.
Posts and pictures can still be submitted through the entry box.

What? No website? Now this is an unfortunate thing. This site is of great interest to me and, I am sure, to many people in the Mt. Hope neighbourhood, as well as other city neighborhoods (let's not forget the movers and shakers in city hall, who have time to surf the web in between 'briefings.') Websites (like flowers, children, and pets) need time to grow, mature, and become established.
I hope the decision to close the site will be reconsidered. I was just getting warmed up! Ok Ok, so I am a slow starter (like many people, I suspect.)

I am very sad to hear this. I check the website often and it is a valuable source of information to me.
